Korean edutech startup Riiid makes CB Insights 2021 AI 100 list

South Korea¡¯s educational technology startup Riiid was named top 100 global AI companies by CB Insights, becoming the only Korean name in the list.

The AI 100 is an annual list of the 100 most promising AI companies in the world. The global market researcher unveiled its fifth annual AI 100 list based on factors like business relations, investor profile, news sentiment analysis, R&D activity, market potential, competitive landscape and tech novelty. CB Insight¡¯s proprietary Mosaic scores that analyze business soundness and growth potential are also reflected in its choices.

The U.S.-based companies dominated the 2021 AI 100 list, with 64 of the selected firms based in the country. There are eight winners from the U.K., six each from China and Israel and five from Canada.

Riiid provides personalized educational content by analyzing learners¡¯ studying data with AI to boost motivation to help them achieve their learning objectives within a given period. Its technological effectiveness is widely known in global AI educational academia.

The AI-based online learning platform has been drawing attention from the global market since it unveiled its own learning database ¡®Ednet.¡¯ It also held a workshop at the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) to suggest the direction of the educational industry in the post-pandemic era.
