Samsung Electronics’ newest foldable duo – Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 – are setting new records in Southeast Asia and Central and South America, with sales 1.7 times higher their predecessors in India and 1.4 times in Southeast Asia, the company said Wednesday. Sales in Indonesia with the world’s fourth-largest population, doubled and in New Zealand 1.7 times bigger. Sales grew 1.5 times in Brazil and Mexico after release this month. The smartphones have also created a splash in Europe with initial shipments doubling their predecessors, according to Benjamin Braun, Samsung’s chief marketing officer in Europe. Samsung released the models in 127 countries as of Sept. 21. It will begin sales in Japan on Sept. 29 and in the Middle East and Africa in November.
