Jeong Eun-kyeong, heroine behind Korea`s battle with new coronavirus and the country’s first Commissioner of Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency elevated amid the pandemic, is leaving the helm over infectious disease control after President Yoon Suk-yeol named Peck Kyong-ran, an infectious disease professor at Sungkyunkwan University, as new chief.
