LG Display Co., the world¡¯s biggest automotive organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panel provider, has supplied its plastic OLED (P-OLED) panels to Mercedes-Benz AG for the infotainment system of the luxury German car brand¡¯s new electric sedan.

LG Electronics Inc. said on Wednesday that it has developed the infotainment system for Mercedes-Benz¡¯ 2022 EQS model in collaboration with the German automaker. Especially, its affiliate LG Display¡¯s P-OLED panel is used in the curved panoramic screen on the entire dashboard for the in-vehicle infotainment system that consists of three screens, including the instrument panel, central information display, and passenger seat display. The driver and front passenger can use each screen independently, which is expected to increase convenience.

P-OLED is recognized as the most suitable material for vehicle displays because it can be bent and rolled up freely. Its wide viewing angle and excellent picture quality provide the user with various information and entertainment functions.

According to Omdia, a global market research firm, LG Display ranked first in the global automotive OLED panel market with a share of 91.3 percent.
