LG Chem buys 40 plus battery patents from Hanyang University

LG Chem purchased more than 40 patents related to high–nickel cathode materials for electric vehicle (EV) batteries from Hanyang University for tens of billions of won. The company is focusing on producing an NCMA (nickel, cobalt, manganese and aluminum) cathode, which features 90 percent nickel content, enabling higher energy density and safety for supply to its pure-play battery unit LG Energy Solution.
