The project to create Seoul Arena as the nation’s largest concert venue gained go-ahead from the government. It will be built in the Chang-dong area in Dongbong-gu, Seoul in the latter half of 2025. Seoul Arena will be able to host 28,000 people, including standing seats. The premise also would house movie theaters and stores. The construction of the Seoul Arena is part of a plan is to turn Chang-dong into a center of jobs and culture. A total of 312 billion won ($257 million) will be invested in this project, all raised from private capital.
