M&As in Korea hit $31 bn as of Sept. up 68% on year

M&A turnover in South Korea jumped 68 percent on year in January-September as the market enjoyed a boom thanks to ample liquidity and eased Covid-19 fears. According to data released by the Korea M&A Exchange (KMX), M&A deals made from January to September reached 37.26 trillion won ($31.4 billion), up 68 percent on year. The number of deals stood at 655, up 38.2 percent from 474 last year. The components, materials and chemical industries showed the most vibrant M&A activities while the software and bio sectors marked a fall.
