Nongshim¡¯s flagship instant noodle Shin Ramyun sold more in overseas than at home turf of Korea for the first time in 35 years since its launch on the back of the rising popularity of Korean food in the global market. Shin Ramyun raked in 370 billion won ($311.3 million) from overseas, representing 53.5 percent of its entire revenue of 690 billion won as of the end of September. The company expects the sales of Shin Ramyun would reach 930 billion won at the end of this year including 500 billion won in overseas sales. Nongshim plans to increase its supply of Shin Ramyun to not only to the U.S. and Canada but also Latin America including Mexico once its second factory in the U.S. begins operation at the end of the year.
