Asian startup extravaganza Try Everything kicks off with ASEAN-Korea XTC contest

Startups in Asia are invited to vie for the ASEAN-Korea Regional for eXtreme Tech Challenge (XTC) by Aug. 1 as a part of the events leading up to the Asia¡¯s biggest global startup convention Try Everything co-hosted by Seoul Metropolitan Government and Maeil Business Newspaper in Seoul in September.

The second Try Everything 2021 will be held for three days from Sept.15 at The Shilla Hotel in central Seoul. The convention features a mix of offline and online programs where up-and-coming tech startups can meet global venture investors and accelerators to get funding ideas and mentoring.

This year¡¯s Try Everything will be held in tandem with Asia¡¯s largest annual business forum World Knowledge Forum, which is scheduled to be held from Sept. 14 to 16 at The Shilla Hotel. The two forums will offer joint programs together to create synergy effects by allowing startups to get insights and visions from the world¡¯s renowned economists, policy makers and leading entrepreneurs.

List of investors and keynote speakers for Try Everything 2021 will be released in early August.

XTC, the world¡¯s largest start-up competition for entrepreneurs addressing global challenges, will accept applications for the ASEAN-Korea Regional by Aug.1. Any startups committed to creating new technologies to benefit humankind can participate to receive funding from global investors.

Local confectionary giant Binggrae, auto company Mercedes-Benz Korea, oil refinery S-Oil and beer maker Oriental Brewery (OB) will separately hold regional contests to select innovative startups with huge potential on various themes including food technologies, logistics, future mobility and sustainability.
