À̹ÌÁö È®´ë Winia Dimchae¡¯s ultra-low temperature freezer to keep Covid-19 vaccines has gained marketing clearance from Korean health authorities, the company said on Wednesday, which follows the FDA¡¯s authorization for U.S. sale in March.
The portable lightweight vaccine freezer branded as Medibox provides a wider temperature range from minus 75 degrees Celsius to 10 degrees, offering storage to currently available coronavirus vaccines that are needed to be stored at different temperatures, including mRNA-based vaccines.
Demand for vaccine storage units surges around the world as many countries speed up vaccination for their people. Still, only a few countries are equipped with a cold chain that spans from the point of manufacturing to aerial transport to local distribution. Small hospitals and public health centers also need storage equipment to ensure vaccine viability.
The battery-powered freezer weighing 143 pounds is designed to store 18,000 vaccine doses.
