KT Corp. has opened up another 5G lab in Pangyo, Gyeonggi, to bring together startups, established companies and individual developers to explore and develop new services and products on 5G platform, the South Korean major telecommunications company said on Tuesday.

Its first KT 5G Open Lab inaugurated at the company¡¯s research center in Seocho District, southern Seoul last September, is now visited by over 100 partners each month to develop new business models on the 5G network, according to KT.

The second one also aims to explore creative 5G services jointly with promising Pangyo startups involved in next-generation media, IoT and mobile technology. Pangyo is home to more than 1,000 startups and some of Korea¡¯s big name tech companies. The KT 5G Open Lab is fully equipped with the gear needed to test the 5G setup and facilities including a shield room covered with a thick steel wall to ensure uninterrupted 5G testing.

Users can book their visit to use facilities on the lab¡¯s website (5gopenlab.com).
