Netflix¡¯s hit Korean drama ¡°Kingdom¡± to be developed into game

Story-based game developer Day7 under South Korean mobile game publisher Com2uS Corp. has signed an intellectual property contract with local drama producer AStory, local drama producer known for Netflix¡¯s second Korean original series ¡°Kingdom.¡±

Day7 under the contract is planning to develop a new story-building game based on the hit drama of fictional battles with zombies during the Joseon dynasty period and the new label will be globally serviced by Com2uS to use its edge in the industry, Com2uS said Wednesday.

AStory is a Korean drama production company that has joined many popular works like 2013 TV series ¡°You¡¯re the Best!¡± starring IU and police procedural TV series ¡°Signal¡± in 2016.

Its latest work ¡°Kingdom,¡± which premiered on Netflix on Jan. 25, was six-episode zombie mystery thriller starring Ju Ji-hoon, Bae Doona and Ryu Seung-ryong, helping migration to Netflix in Korean viewers.

Com2uS expects the new Kingdom-based game also could appeal to global gamers, riding on the popularity of the series. With development of the new label, Com2uS also is preparing to introduce Day7¡¯s other story-based games to overseas gamers and seeking more cooperation with various contents to raise its corporate competitiveness.
