Korea’s Kumho Tire Co. said on Tuesday it is providing new 20-inch low profile tires for Hyundai Motor’s minibus Solati limousine.

Kumho’s new 20-inch low profile tire upgraded from Portran KC53 features a low aspect ratio of 45, designed to endure the vehicle’s heavy weight, while maintaining the previous level of riding comfort and fuel efficiency. The figure represents the ratio of the sidewall’s section height to the tire’s section width. A normal tire is 60 or 65. Fifty and 45 is considered low-profile and has a shorter sidewall. A tire’s aspect ratio determines the height of the sidewall.

Kumho Tire was selected as an original equipment supplier to Hyundai cars and developed the world’s first 20-inch low profile tire with improved durability performance and higher resistance to abrasion. The 20-inch low profile tire makes a significant contribution to the vehicle’s stability, steering response and braking distances.

The Hyundai Solati is a European-style commercial minivan with a semi-bonnet arrangement. The award-winning light commercial vehicle features luxurious interior, quietness and space utilization. The van is made in Korea and in Turkey and sold overseas under the brand name of Hyundai H350. Hyundai’s SOLATI Moving Hotel specially designed for entertainers based on the Solati limousine won a “Best of the Best” award at the Red Dot Awards last year.
