South Korea¡¯s fast food brand Mom¡¯s Touch opened its first store in California, the U.S., becoming the first Korean burger brand to enter the American market, the company announced on Thursday.

Its store is located in a commercial district of Concord where many restaurants are concentrated, but Mom¡¯s Touch is the only burger joint on the district, the company said. The store sitting on a 130-square-meter area has more than 40 seats and outside tables to allow customers to enjoy the warm California weather while dining outdoors.

Mom¡¯s Touch that opened its first store in Korea in 2001 opened its 1,000th local store in December 2016. It currently runs five stores in Taiwan and plans to open the second store in Vietnam this year.

An official from Mom¡¯s Touch said that its entry into the American market is meaningful as it is the first Korean indigenous burger brand to tap into the market. The company will continue to strive to expand its overseas business, added the official.
