South Korea¡¯s leading skincare brand Aesthetic Hydration Cosmetic (AHC) has opened a pop-up store in Shanghai to celebrate its inroad into China where demand for Korean beauty products remains unfazed.
The company said Tuesday AHC cosmetics products are now available at local health and beauty stores and online shopping malls in China after the Korean beauty company has obtained necessary licenses from Chinese authorities to market cosmetics.
The newly opened pop-up store in Shanghai offers its visitors opportunities to experience AHC¡¯s flagship products. Popular products are displayed on the first floor, and clerks give advice on how to use the products on the second floor.
The company will target Chinese women with its popular moisturizing products that are considered primary anti-aging solution in the country, the company said.
AHC said it will also expand its offline distribution channel in China amid growing popularity of Korean beauty products in the country. To further bolster its sales, the company will seek to collaborate with beauty influencers in China, a company official said.
Established in 1999, AHC is a cosmetics brand operated by Carver Korea Co. Global consumer goods giant Unilever last year acquired a 60 percent stake in Carver Korea for 2.27 billion euros ($2.63 billion), marking the largest M&A deal in the history of the Korean cosmetics industry.
