Jimin, a member of K-pop superstar BTS, has become the first South Korean solo artist to reach the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list with his single, ¡°Like Crazy,¡± according to Billboard on Monday.

Like Crazy, which beat out Miley Cyrus¡¯ ¡°Flowers¡± and Morgan Wallen¡¯s ¡°Last Night,¡± is the title track of Jimin¡¯s debut solo album ¡°Face¡± that was released worldwide on March 24. The song, combined with synth and drum sounds with his emotional singing, is highlighted by powerful choreography with a group of dancers.

Jimin joined the songwriting to reflect the anxiety and frustration he felt from the pandemic to the lyrics.

Six BTS songs, including ¡°Dynamite¡± and ¡°Butter,¡± have so far reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 list. Psy¡¯s ¡°Gangnam Style,¡± which went viral worldwide in 2012, ranked No. 2 on the chart for 7 straight weeks.

Jimin¡¯s Like Crazy sold 254,000 song downloads and CD singles. The song also drew 10 million streams and 64,000 radio airplay audience impressions.

¡°It wouldn¡¯t have been possible without our fans, the Army, and BTS,¡± Jimin said in a live chat.
