Reah Keem, a virtual influencer commanding 14,000 Instagram followers since creation by LG Electronics Inc. last year as a singer-songwriter, is debuting by signing a contract with an established agency in Korea.
LG Electronics announced on Tuesday that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) last month with Mystic Story, a Korean entertainment company, to help Reah make her formal debut as a musician.
Under MOU, Reah will be part of Mystic Story’s “Virtual Human Musician Project”, and Yoon Jong-shin, the chief producer at Mystic Story, will lead the project to produce Reah’s debut songs.
LG Electronics expects Reah’s real debut as a singer will increase its brand awareness among younger generations and enhance its customer touchpoints with its digital character.
Reah was first introduced at CES 2021 during the "LG Electronics Press Conference" as a 23-year-old female living in Seoul. She was created using artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and her voice and movement were developed using motion capture, deep learning technology, and natural language processing.
Reah has introduced herself as a singer-songwriter and DJ on social media and she often shares photos about her daily life through her Instagram account. She frequents restaurants, cafes, and cultural spaces that are popular amongst people in their 20s and 30s. She has more than doubled her Instagram followers over a year to over 14,000.
