BTS¡¯ single ¡°Butter¡± spends its seventh week at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and may be challenged by the K-pop sensation¡¯s newest all-English feel-good song ¡°Permission to Dance¡± in coming weeks.

Shares of Hybe Co., the K-pop powerhouse behind BTS, finished Tuesday up 0.65 percent at 309,000 won ($269.75) upon confirming ¡°Butter¡± had topped the Hot 100 chart for the seventh straight weeks.

Since its release in May, ¡°Butter¡± has continued to smash the boy band¡¯s own record that it set with its previous English super-hit ¡°Dynamite,¡± which topped the chart for three non-consecutive weeks. The group now has 12 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 records, with "Butter" leading the list with seven times, followed by "Dynamite¡± with three, "Life Goes On" and "Savage Love" with one each.

BTS¡¯s seven-week reign marks the longest No.1 streak achieved by a group since 1995. The song drew 10.8 million U.S. streams and 108,800 downloads in the week ended July 8, becoming the eighth song in the Billboard¡¯s history to spend seven consecutive weeks on top of Hot 100. It is also just one week behind this year¡¯s record set by Olivia Rodrigo¡¯s ¡°Driver¡¯s License¡± which debuted at No.1 on Hot 100 in January and stayed there for eight straight weeks.

The K-pop name would likely reign longer on the Billboard as it is set to make another Hot 100 entry next week with its latest single "Permission to Dance," a collaboration with British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. The new song is already sweeping global charts, snatching the No. 2 spot on Spotify¡¯s Global Top 200 chart and No. 1 on iTunes top songs charts in 92 regions upon release last week.
