¡°Baby Shark¡±, which has become an all-time favorite children¡¯s song and dance, will become collectible in digital art form of non-fungible token (NFT) next month, according to its South Korean creator SmartStudy and entertainment arm Pinkfong.

The companies have joined forces with NFT platform MarkersPlace to introduce the first series in the Baby Shark NFT collection.

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are unique digital assets generally used to represent works of art and collectibles.

Titled ¡°Baby Shark: Collection No. 1¡±, the NFT series will feature Baby Shark and his family in original animations that are accompanied by audio that references the song. It will also present the characters in a series of holographic colors, collage techniques, and geometric symmetry patterns resonated in harmony with elegant electronic sound.

SmartStudy¡¯s flagship IP Pinkfong Baby Shark and its accompanying dance have become the most viewed video ever on YouTube with 9.6 billion views. It also set a new record in Korea with diamond and 11 multi-platinum certifications from the American Record Industry Association.

The Baby Shark NFT collection will be introduced with a teaser posted on the MarkersPlace website from Tuesday and sales will begin from Dec. 3.

MarkersPlace is an NFT marketplace launched in 2018 and has established itself as a platform to connect creators and art collectors on a blockchain-based system. In March of this year, the marketplace in partnership with auction house Christie`s drew attention for the sale of artwork `Everydays: The First 5000 Days` for a record high price of $69 million as an NFT art form.
