The upcoming album is the sequel to ‘Map of the Soul: Persona’ released in April 2019. In an interview upon receiving Variety’s Group of the Year award in December, RM of the K-pop icon, disclosed the members were “currently working on new music and new album and can’t wait to share them” with fans in the near future.
Its previous album ‘Map of the Soul: Persona’ sold more than 3.69 million copies, the highest sales record for the Gaon Music Chart since the Korea Music Content Association compiled the chart in 2011. The album debuted at the No.1 on the Billboard 200, and still remained on the chart at No.148 as of Tuesday (local time). It was the group’s third No.1 album on the Billboard 200 chart after it had topped the chart for the first time in June 2018 with ‘Love Yourself: Tear’ and again in September with ‘Love Yourself: Answer.’
