K-pop sensation BTS name commanded No. 1 and 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 songs chart after the latest remix version of hit song ¡°Savage Love¡± featuring the group went to the top, a rare feat after The Black Eyed Peas in 2009.
The remix ¡°Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)¡± of viral sensation ¡°Savage Love¡± by producer Jawsh 685, singer Jason Derulo and featuring BTS soared to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.
This is the second Hot 100 No.1 for the seven-member boy group as the latest single ¡°Dynamite¡± reigns at No. 2 after spending three weeks at No. 1.
À̹ÌÁö È®´ë BTS is the first group to double the top two on the U.S. chart since The Black Eyed Peas command over four weeks in June-July 2009 with ¡°Boom Boom Pow¡± and ¡°I Gotta Feeling,¡± Billboard said. Only three other duos or groups held names on top two ranks in the same week – OutKast in 2003-2004, Bee Gees in 1978 and The Beatles in 1964.
Savage Love, which sparked a unique ¡°culture dance¡± challenge on video-sharing platform TikTok, drew 16 million U.S. streams (up 32 percent) and sold 76,000 downloads (up 814 percent), in the week from Oct. 2 to 8. The track made the biggest leap from the eighth to the top in a week after two BTS remixes (a vocal and an instrumental version) were released at midnight Oct. 2.
