BlackPink¡¯s ¡°Kill This Love¡± MV sets new K-pop record with 300 mn views

YG label star girl group BlackPink has set a new record with the video of its comeback title ¡°Kill This Love¡± topping 300 million views on YouTube at the fastest pace as a K-pop act.

The music video for ¡°Kill This Love,¡± the main track of the quartet¡¯s latest EP, surpassed 300 million views at YouTube by 4:53 a.m. on Tuesday or 32 days and four hours since the MV release.

It broke the previous record by its past single ¡°Ddu-Du-Ddu-Du¡± MV that attracted 300 million views on YouTube in 68 days after the official release in June 2018.

BlackPink¡¯s ¡°Killl This Love¡± is the seventh music video of the female foursome¡¯s with over 100 million views on YouTube. The most watched is ¡°Ddu-Du-Ddu-Du¡± with 794 million, followed by ¡°As If It¡¯s Your Last¡± with 585 million, ¡°Boombayah¡± with 584 million, ¡°Playing With Fire¡± with 385 million, ¡°Whistle¡± with 362 million, and ¡°Stay¡± with 162 million.

One of the foursome Jennie¡¯s solo single ¡°Solo¡± music video also received over 295 million views.

Meanwhile, BlackPink won the Best in Music award at the 11th annual Shorty Awards held in New York on Sunday (local time), beating out fellow finalists like Post Malone, Janelle Monae, Mason Ramsey, and Harry Styles. The yearly awards recognize social and digital media stars, influencers, in categories including actor, celebrity, music and TV show.

The K-pop girl group with its latest EP Kill This Love has hit new highs on the U.S. Billboard albums and singles chart. It also appeared on both Billboard 200 chart and Billboard Hot 100 chart for three consecutive weeks and on UK Official Singles Chart Top 100 for four straight weeks.
