K-pop girl group TWICE has returned with their new song ¡°Fancy¡± with an bolder and mature style in a bid to escape their cute teenager girls¡¯ image.

¡°Fancy,¡± the title of the nine-member group¡¯s seventh extended play (EP) album ¡°Fancy You¡± unveiled at Yes 24 Live Hall in Seoul on Monday. Their new EP comes five months after sixth EP ¡°Yes or Yes¡± was released.

The new EP features TWICE in a totally new feel as it blends in mellow mood pop electro beats to the group¡¯s signature festive tune. ¡°Entering our fifth year, we have become more conscious about our repeated image, worrying that people might get bored of our bright, cheerful image,¡± said Jihyo, leader of the group, during the showcase. ¡°With this new album, we tried to show our new side while trying not to lose our cheerfulness.¡±

"Fancy" was co-written by Black Eyed Pilseung, who has written many of TWICE`s past hits including 2015 debut single "Like Ooh-Ahh" and 2016`s "TT." The new EP also includes ¡°Girls Like Us¡± that features lyrics written by TWICE¡¯s Jihyo. Momo, Sana, and Chaeyoung.

TWICE - comprised of Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu - debuted with the EP ¡°The Story Begins¡± on October 2015. They are managed by JYP Entertainment.

The nonet will go on a world tour, starting with Seoul on May 25 and 26 then to Bangkok, Manila, Singapore, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Newark, Chicago, and Kuala Lumpur between June and August. They recently completed Japanese dome Dreamday concert series, which ended in a success with over 200,000 tickets all sold out.
