Big-screen smartphones are in high demand in Korea following the release the blockbuster mobile games like Lineage 2M.

LG Electronics Inc. said Sunday that it has sold about 900,000 units of LG V50 ThinQ and LG V50S ThinQ in Korea. LG V50 ThinQ is the Korean electronics maker¡¯s first dual-screen smartphone launched early this year. In the second half, the company rolled out a follow-up model LG V50S.

Galaxy Fold, Samsung Electronics Co.¡¯s first-ever foldable smartphone that hit the market in September also has been sold out.

Market experts estimate the combined sales of big-screen smartphones to reach 1 million units in Korea this year.

Despite the hefty price tag of over $1,000, the gadgets are sought by mobile game enthusiasts. Both LG V50 and V50S come with 6.40-inch touchscreen displays, allowing users to play a mobile game and chat with friends at the same time. Galaxy Fold boasts a 7.3-inch display that folds down to a 4.6-inch outer screen, on top of multitasking features.
