Hanwha secures defense collaboration with Saudi Arabia

Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha Systems, both of whom are major players in South Korea¡¯s defense and aerospace industry, announced on Tuesday they recently signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense at WDS 2024, a comprehensive defense exhibition that took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The MOU signifies a commitment by Hanwha to collaborate with the Saudi Ministry of Defense across various domains, ranging from armored vehicles to surveillance and reconnaissance systems using robots and satellites. The agreement outlines Hanwha¡¯s participation in the Saudi Ministry of Defense¡¯s medium to long-term plans, contributing expertise in ground weaponry systems, robotics, and satellite-based surveillance.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense, which is responsible for organizational functions related to security management and protection of territories, borders, royal assets, and Islamic holy sites, aims to enhance its defense capabilities through strategic collaborations with global industry leaders.
