South Korea’s exports fell nearly 8 percent in the first 20 days of February from a year ago, mainly due to fewer working days, data showed on Wednesday.

According to the Korea Customs Service, the country’s exports in the first 20 days of February stood at $30.7 billion, down 7.8 percent from the same period last year.

Average daily exports rose 9.9 percent based on 13 working days, 2.5 days less than the same period a year ago.

Korea’s monthly exports have been on a rise for four months since October 2023.

Korea’s imports in the first 20 days of February fell 19.2 percent to $32 billion, resulting in a trade deficit of $1.2 billion.
