The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) announced Tuesday that it will hold Korea Culture & Tourism Festival 2018 on October 6-7 in Bangkok, Thailand to attract more Thai visitors.

The KTO plans to provide various events such as K-pop concert and dancing performance to promote Korean culture while celebrating the 60th anniversary of the two countries¡¯ establishment of diplomatic relations.

About 42 companies will join the festival to help enhance exchanges between the two countries by holding a variety of promotional events.

Last year, about 498,000 Thai people visited Korea, making the country the sixth largest source of foreign visitors after China, Japan, Taiwan, the U.S. and Hong Kong, and the largest among the Southeast Asian countries.

¡°Southeast Asia including Thailand has a high interest in Korean Wave and Korean culture, and the number of visitors from the region is on a steady increase,¡± said an official from the KTO. ¡°We will work hard to draw more tourists by developing Korean culture-related tour products and conducting active marketing campaigns.¡±
