À̹ÌÁö È®´ë South Korea readying to normalize nuclear reactor operation under incoming Yoon Suk-yeol presidency has turned more aggressive in marketing domestic reactor technology.
State utility firm Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) said Tuesday its overseas reactor division has met with British authorities to discuss areas of cooperation.
¡°The talks with the British government are still on preliminary level to hear the U.K. plans with reactor projects,¡± said an official from the company.
The U.K. government launched a new body called Great British Nuclear to bolster nuclear capacity to become responsible for 25 percent of power source by 2050 to enhance energy security and meet carbon goals.
Such capacity would require addition of up to eight reactors.
KEPCO plans to join the bidding when it opens by pitching its building credential in the United Arab Emirates.
