Korea Communications Commission (KCC) has lodged an appeal with the Supreme Court after the Seoul Administrative Court dismissed its petition over Facebook¡¯s arbitrary change in the Internet connection route, which the telecom regulator believed led to ¡®significant¡¯ user inconvenience.

The broadcasting and internet authority said in a statement that it had designated Jipyong as its new legal representative in the final court.

Earlier, Facebook filed a suit against the KCC to reverse the imposition of a fine and the Seoul Administrative Court which sided with a lower court¡¯s ruling said Facebook¡¯s arbitrary change in could restrict user access but did not amount to serious inconvenience subject to remedial order and fine.

KCC said it will highlight the legislative purpose of the Telecommunications Business Act in the Supreme Court battle based on actual cases of damage from domestic users and their complaints.
