Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) has opened ¡°Korea Pavilion¡± on its digital trade platform ¡°Buy Korea¡± to enable Korean companies showcase their products and services amid broad entry ban on Koreans due to COVID-19 outbreak, the state-funded organization announced on Tuesday.

KOTRA will use the online tool to showcase the latest products and technologies of Korean exhibitors unable to join the upcoming medical device fair in Istanbul, Turkey due to travel restrictions. Turkey has banned all foreigners coming in from Korea since Mar. 1 as infections spread fast in Korea.

KOTRA will arrange one-on-one video meetings between Korean exhibitors and foreign buyers in cooperation with its overseas trade offices around the world. Sample products will also be delivered through the support of KOTRA.

Special online pavilions will be available by industry to highlight Korea¡¯s top 10 promising industrial sectors such as healthcare, consumer business, and materials and equipment.

Foreign buyers can have a glimpse of the products displayed online, send inquiries and express their purchasing intent. Intensive video meetings will take place for products in the special industry pavilions between late March and May, according to the agency.

KOTRA President Kwon Pyung-oh said he will further expand KOTRA¡¯s online resources to help Korean exporters facing challenges due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
