Zoom, YouTube and Yahoo are some of the big names coming to Seoul for WKF

Silicon Valley tech legends such as founders of Zoom, YouTube and Yahoo are lined up to join this year¡¯s World Knowledge Forum (WKF) in Seoul in September to talk about how to harness disruptive technologies and new business models for sustainability.

The World Knowledge Forum secretariat unveiled on Sunday a preliminary list of confirmed speakers including top Silicon Valley entrepreneurs out of some 250 from around the world who will speak at the annual conference which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The WKF, the largest business forum in Asia, will take place on September 25-27, 2019 at Hotel Shilla and Jangchung Gymnasium in central Seoul.

This year feature speakers include tech¡¯s newest billionaire Eric Yuan who started Zoom in 2011. Yuan¡¯s stake in the video conferencing software firm reached $2.9 billion after its Nasdaq listing last April. YouTube founder Steve Chen who advises to Google Ventures and Yahoo founder Jerry Yang who established the Internet giant in 1995 who now heads AME Cloud Ventures are also among the speakers in the conference.

James Cathey, Senior Vice President and President of global business at Qualcomm, the largest player in the mobile chip market, Jan Mrosik, Chief Operating Officer of Siemens Digital Industries, a leading smart factory company, and Tony Fernandes, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia, Asia¡¯s largest budget carrier, will also join to share their insights on various issues facing the global business community.
