Porche and five other luxury foreign car brands will recall a combined 4,197 vehicles in 12 models in South Korea for defective components, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Thursday.
Porsche Korea will recall 2,808 units of Panamera 970 for faulty sealers of air conditioning fan that could cause fire.
Honda Korea found defects in the timing belt, a rubber belt that connects the engine crankshaft to the camshaft to keep the valve safely moving, in 880 units of its minivan models Odyssey and Pilot. A faulty timing belt can lead to a significant engine failure.
FCA Korea found that 440 units of Jeep¡¯s SUV Renegade have an error in their airbag control unit, which cause airbag malfunction. Hanbul Motors plan to recall 35 units in six models including Peugeot 508 2.0 BlueHDi for ill-fitting high pressure fuel tube nuts linked to fuel injector, which could cause fuel leaks and fire.

Volvo Car Korea will recall 22 units of crossover XC90 for cracked cooling hoses that could result in water leakage. BMW Korea also found defects in circuit boards of electric motor electronics (EME), a motor control system, in 12 units of its electric vehicle model i3 94ah LCI.
