The final chapter of Marvel Studio¡¯s apocalyptic super hero series ¡°Avengers: Endgame¡± replaced all records for a foreign film in Korea, including the highest-grossing title.
According to the movie¡¯s local distributor Walt Disney Company Korea on Sunday, the latest Marvel saga was seen by 13.4 million as of 11:45 a.m. based on the Korean Film Council¡¯s ticket sales data, bringing down ¡°Avatar¡± from the peak it dominated for the last decade with 13.3 million.
Six foreign films have broken the 10 million-view record so far in Korea including ¡°Avengers: Infinity War¡± (2018, 11.2 million), ¡°Avengers: Age of Ultron¡± (2015, 10.5 million), ¡°Interstellar¡± (2014, 10.3 million), and ¡°Frozen¡± (2013, 10.3 million).
À̹ÌÁö È®´ë Avengers: Endgame has been making records after it arrived at local theaters on Apr. 24, selling the most 2.3 million presale tickets and attracting the largest-ever 1.34 million people on the premiere day. It also drew the biggest-ever 1.66 million moviegoers on a daily basis and took the shortest 11 days to break the 10 million admissions since opening.
Avengers: Endgame is an American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, produced by Marvel Studios. It is the finale of 22-episode-long saga of Marvel Cinematic Universe, which began with ¡°Iron Man¡± in 2008.
