À̹ÌÁö È®´ë For the 11th year running, Google remains the top job place choice among foreign names for Koreans, a survey released on Thursday showed.
In a poll of 1,194 job seekers conducted by country¡¯s employment and recruitment portal site Saramin, Google Korea ranked first with 27 percent of the votes. The tech giant was followed by Starbucks Coffee Korea (6 percent), BMW Korea (4.9 percent), Apple Korea (4.9 percent), Coca-Cola Korea (4.3 percent), Netflix Korea (3.9 percent), GE Korea (3.2 percent), Microsoft Korea (2.8 percent), Nike Korea (2.3 percent) and Siemens Korea (2.3 percent).
Reasons why they chose to work for a foreign firm included high salary (17.3 percent), welfare system (16.1 percent), corporate reputation (14.6 percent), career development (10.5 percent), good vision and growth potential (9.4 percent), and work and life balance (8.1 percent).
The average annual salary of the top 10 foreign companies was 50,170,000 won ($44,000) as of last year. The highest paying employer was Microsoft Korea with 62,590,000 won, followed by Google Korea (61,620,000 won), BMW Korea (57,570,000 won), Siemens Korea (55,630,000 won) and Netflix Korea (51,060,000 won).
Regarding what it takes to land a job at foreign firms, respondents picked communication ability (62.5 percent), foreign language test scores (35.3 percent), internship and work experience (33.5 percent), education achievement (27.6 percent), specialty (25.2 percent) and certificate (25.1 percent).
