People, not work, makes 8 out of 10 Korean salaried workers to quit jobs

Korean salaried workers would quit job if they cannot stand the people more than the work itself, a survey showed.

According to local job portal provider SaraminHR on Wednesday, 81 percent out of 379 surveyors cited human relationship over work should they decide to quit. Stress from human relationship overwhelmed work-related (71.8 percent versus 28.2 percent).

More than half – 54.4 percent – actually left the former workplace because of workplace conflicts, and 66 percent said this stress influence work performance.

Seniors or bosses were the biggest reason for conflict (79.1 percent). Frequency in their ¡°unreasonableness¡± in demands and orders was the biggest complaint (44 percent), followed by their domineering attitude (40.4 percent), lacking sense of responsibility (37.6 percent), and reckless ordering (28.1 percent).

Most chose to leave the matter as it is to avoid a greater clash (59.6 percent), while others found to relieve the stress (42.2 percent) on their own. Just 35.5 percent were readying to leave the workplace.
