K-pop superstar BTS will continue to promote KB Kookmin Bank in 2019 as the leading bank renewed its one-year advertising and marketing contract with the boy band.
BTS will remain as the bank’s face for another year under the ad campaign “Play Digital KB.”
The K-pop phenomenon first appeared in the bank’s advertisement for mobile app ‘KB Star Banking’ in February, and the video has received over 10 million views. The ‘KB x BTS Savings,’ a one-year savings account released in partnership with BTS in June, has drawn over 180,000 account openings in just six months.
With aggressive promotional activities with the K-pop icon, KB Kookmin Bank has improved its brand awareness, ranking fifth in Korea’s top 100 brands list this year published by Brandstock Corp. It commanded the highest spot among the banking names.
