À̹ÌÁö È®´ë South Korea is unrivaled and fastest in LTE-based wireless and Wi-Fi speed in the world, a study found.
According to Korea Telecommunications Operators Association (KTOA) on Monday, the average mobile download speed in the country reached 133.43 megabits per second (Mbps), much faster than the second fastest city Toronto in Canada with 74.17Mbps. Paris showed an average speed at 53.89Mbps, San Francisco 43.34Mbps, London 41.24Mbps, and New York 31.00Mbps.
The nation also ranked No.1 in terms of mobile upload speed which reached 34.04Mbps on average, with that of other major cities around the world averaging at 17 to 30Mbps.
South Korea showed even faster public wi-fi speed. Its public wi-fi download speed came at 286.73Mbps and upload speed at 296.86Mbps, while the average wi-fi download speed of major countries and cities fell below 50Mbps. Paris, the second fastest city, showed an average wi-fi download speed at 47.79Mbps and upload at 78.48Mbps, while those of New York stood at 15.22Mbps and 16.85Mbps and London 11.32Mbps and 12.17Mbps, respectively.
