South Korean police have arrested a 53-year-old former teacher at a private high school in Seoul on charges of stealing exam questions and answers and giving them to his twin daughters who attend the same school.

The Seoul Central District Court issued a warrant to detain him charged with obstruction of business by prosecutors, saying that there¡¯s a risk of destroying evidence given the results of the investigation and the collected evidence.

Police raided Sookmyung Girls¡¯ High School and his house in September during the probe and found memos with answers to some test questions in mobile phones of his daughters. He was also found to have worked on a night shift just before the mid-term and final exams in the spring semester. He replaced his computer after the case was brought to light.

The two daughters are reported to have submitted a dropout application to the school last week.

Police initiated the investigation after the inquiry of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education as the two students suddenly recorded top scores in the final exam in the first semester, an almost impossible achievement given their earlier academic performance.
