Samsung SDI Co. will unveil a diverse range of batteries for energy storage systems (ESS) at the three-day Korea Smart Grid Expo kicking off on Wednesday.

It is the first time for Samsung SDI to attend the event, which marks its 14th year. The expo, which is the country’s only smart grid event, is hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and sponsored by the Korea Smart Grid Association.

Samsung SDI will manage a booth showcasing its innovative battery lineup for ESSs, including high-power batteries for Samsung Battery Box (SBB) and uninterruptible power supply (UPS).

The SBB is a tech solution equipped with battery cells, modules, and racks, ready for seamless integration with the power grid.

As a result of Samsung SDI‘s cutting-edge material technology, the SBB boasts a storage capacity of 3.84 megawatt hours (MWh) with a direct injection system designed to prevent fire hazards.

The innovation meets the stringent fire safety testing (UL9540A) standard in the United States.

Samsung SDI will showcase UPS batteries tailored to meet the rising demand from tech companies.

The high-power solutions provide essential backup power to servers during unexpected accidents such as power outages.
