Hanwha Q Cells Corp., a solar power unit of South Korean conglomerate Hanwha Group, announced Wednesday it has sold its 81-megawatt solar power plant in Cooke County, Texas to U.S.-based solar energy solutions provider Adpture Renewables Inc.

The Rippey Solar Project plant, which became fully operational in December after eight months of construction, is capable of producing electricity for domestic use of 115,000 people per year.

Details about the financial terms were not disclosed.

Hanwha Q Cells has been active in solar power plant business, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects and power trading deals, on top of the module business since it unveiled its vision towards a total energy solutions provider in January last year.

¡°Hanwha Q Cells is targeting to become a total solutions provider for renewable energy beyond a solar cells and modules manufacturer. We¡¯ll keep seeking for business opportunities in solar power plant and EPC projects especially in advanced energy markets like the U.S. and Europe,¡± said Kim Hee-cheul, CEO of Hanwha Q Cells.
