ADT CAPS Co., the security device making subsidiary of South Korea¡¯s largest wireless carrier SK Telecom Co., has changed its name into SK shieldus to cut out identity beyond physical security service.

Under a business strategy unveiled by ADT CAPS Chief Executive Park Jin-hyo on Tuesday, ADT CAPS will start anew as SK shieldus, a compound of ¡°shield¡± and ¡°us¡± timed with launch of new parent SK Square on Nov. 1 through spinoff from SK Telecom.

¡°We aspire to evolve into a life care platform with a goal to increase sales from new growth businesses by fivefold by 2025,¡± Park said during an online press conference.

By leveraging on its artificial intelligence, cloud computing and quantum-safe security capabilities, the company will double down on new growth engines, sharpening focus on four major business segments including cyber security, physical security, convergence security and safety and care, Park explained.

SK shieldus will actively seek M&A opportunities in the field of cloud security solutions and introduce AI CCTV cameras within the year.

It also aims to expand its home security service ¡°Caps Home¡± to more than one million households by 2025 and ¡°Caps Safety Zone¡± solutions to more than 5,000 unmanned stores by the yearend.

¡°We aim to speed up our transition from the existing physical security-centered structure to an integrated life care service provider and increase the proportion of sales from new growth business to up to 60 percent of total sales by 2025,¡± Park added.
