All three children of SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won are now on the payroll of the family business, with the youngest joining SK E&S Co., a clean energy and solution unit of South Korea¡¯s No. 3 conglomerate.

Chey In-geun, the youngest and only son of SK Group chairman, started work as a junior employee at SK E&S¡¯ strategic planning team on Monday, according to the company.

Chey, 25, graduated with a bachelor¡¯s degree in physics from Brown University in the United States and interned at Boston Consulting Group.

SK E&S runs seven city gas subsidiaries and five generation companies, and oversees five overseas branches. It specializes in renewable energy businesses and energy solutions including energy storage systems and virtual power plants.

The company recently won a solar power plant project in Saemangeum, a reclaimed land in South Korea¡¯s southern coast, the biggest deal of its kind for a private enterprise. It would be responsible for installing 200 megawatts of solar power at the 2.4-gigawatt plant.

Chey¡¯s two older sisters already work in SK Group subsidiaries.

The eldest, Yoon-jung, was a manager at SK Biopharmaceuticals Co. before she took a leave last year to pursue a bioinformatics master¡¯s degree at Stanford University. The second daughter, Min-jung, joined the chipmaker SK Hynix Co. last year.
