GS Caltex, the leading oil refiner in South Korea, has opened one-stop fuel supplying center in Gangdong District, eastern Seoul, on Thursday, where all fueling is possible.

The first Energy Station in Seoul sitting on a 3,300-square-meter area provides fuels of every kind including conventional gasoline, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as well as electricity and hydrogen.

The station has been built in cooperation with Hyundai Motor as part of the government¡¯s initiative to increase use of hydrogen as an energy source. GS Caltex is solely responsible for operation and management, the company said.

The company had installed fast chargers with 100 kilowatts (kW) capacity for electric vehicles in October last year.

The hydrogen fuel provided at the station is offered from external suppliers because outsourcing is safer than direct production, an official from the company said.

Hydrogen charging is available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. The station is capable of fully charging 70 units of hydrogen-powered cars per day, the company said.
