LG Electronics Inc. has partnered up with U.S. automotive voice recognition solutions provider Cerence Inc. in artificial intelligence (AI)-powered voice control solution for a connected vehicle platform to beef up its automotive electronics capabilities.
The company announced Tuesday it has signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop a new in-car software solution by integrating LG¡¯s webOS Auto In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system with Cerence¡¯s turnkey automotive product AI Reference Kit (ARK).
Under the partnership, the two companies aim to enhance in-vehicle communications experience through voice commands, enabling drivers and passengers to have far more control over car functions, navigation and multimedia content.
The new solution will be designed to deliver an immersive voice experience with rich content ecosystem to connected cars and enable customers to enjoy the advanced user experience inside vehicle.
