Samsung Electronics¡¯ next flagship handset may be in rollable whose screen can stretch up to eight inches, according to a 3D image released by famous Dutch designer Jermain Smit in cooperation with LetsGoDigital on Tuesday.
The image was produced based on Samsung¡¯s known patented technology and rumors that have so far been spread.
A rollable display is a flexible display that can be rolled up into a scroll.
Samsung`s rollable phone has a structure that expands the display by pulling the screen to both sides. When the display is rolled up, it can be used like a 6-inch smartphone. When it is stretched, it can be used like an 8-inch tablet. On the back, three triple camera modules are arranged vertically, and the S Pen like one in the Galaxy Note series is attached.
Rollables have become the new buzz in the smartphone industry.

At OPPO INNO DAY 2020 held on Nov. 17, China¡¯s OPPO debuted the OPPO X 2021 rollable concept handset, the first physical product released in the industry. Another smartphone developer TCL introduced a prototype of its rollable phone under development online last month.
The Oppo X 2021 rollable phone can expand its 6.7-inch display to 7.4 inches thanks to a rollable screen panel and a motor-powered sliding mechanism to unroll it.

However, Oppo fell short of mentioning its launch date or price. Market watchers said Oppo may be conscious of rival LG Electronics that might be the world¡¯s first commercially available rollable phone. LG Electronics is expected to roll out its rollable phone as early as next March.
