South Korea¡¯s top internet portal Naver Corp. will establish a multi-robot intelligence system at its second head office building in Bundang, Gyeonggi Province, which is currently under construction for completion next year, acting as the controlling ¡°brain¡± of all robots in operation.
At DEVIEW 2020, the country¡¯s largest annual conference on artificial intelligence (AI) and software hosted by Naver, on Wednesday, Seok Sang-ok, chief executive of Naver Labs, said that Naver will establish artificial intelligence robot cloud (ARC) system at its second headquarters building that is currently being built adjacent to its current head office Green Factory in Jeongja-dong in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. Seok said the second head office will be the world¡¯s first robot-friendly building with ARC system.
ARC will act as the controlling brain of all robots in operation at the head office by connecting all robots with AI and cloud on a real time basis. The robots will be able to provide intelligent and efficient service without having to rely on each sensor thanks to ARC system and receive updates all at once.

Naver said that the ARC system will be a ¡°large intelligence floating on cloud and it will allow the company to lower manufacturing cost of each robot while maximize performance.
The ARC system will be formed by ARC eye and ARC brain.
ARC eye will grasp the current location and route of robots even when the global positioning system (GPS) isn¡¯t in operation indoors while ARC brain will plan and execute movement and service of all robots.
The ARC system integrates all of the technologies that have been developed by Naver Labs, such as M1, a mapping robot that manufactures high-precision indoor map, visual localization technology that allows precise location recognition indoors without GPS, and brainless robot technology in which cloud functions as the brain of several robots by utilizing 5G ultra low latent network.
¡°ARC will be commercialized for the first time at the second head office,¡± Seok said.
