South Korea¡¯s retail giant Shinsegae Group on Thursday has appointed E-Mart CEO Kang Heui-seok to co-head online marketplace SSG.com.
With doubling command over traditional retail pillar E-Mart and rising e-commerce SSG.com, Shinsegae hopes to create enhanced synergy for both online and offline services, the group said Thursday.
Kim Song-yong, CEO of convenience store chain E-Mart24, will move to head supermarket chain E-Mart Everyday.
Kim Jang-wook, head of IT service unit Shinsegae I&C, will replace him as new CEO of E-Mart.
Three were promoted to chief executive level including Song Hyun-seok (to new CEO of Shinsegae Food from managing director and head of marketing) and Son Jung-hyun (to new CEO of Shinsegae I&C from managing director and head of IT service business).
Organizational changes were also made in part. E-Mart formed a new team for better organizational culture, while SSG.com reshaped the whole structure. Shinsegae Food integrated the manufacturing division and distribution part. Starbucks Coffee Korea built new teams for strategic planning and product development.
