The Best Global Brands is an annual ranking of the 100 most valuable global brands in terms of estimated value by New York-based brand marketing consulting and management firm Interbrand. The estimated value of the Korean tech giant¡¯s brand rose 2 percent on year to its highest ever value of $61.1 billion this year, ranking sixth in the Best Global Brands 2019, according to a report released by Interbrand on Thursday.

Its name has been put on the top 10 list since 2012 – ninth in 2012 ($32.9 billion), eighth in 2013 ($39.6 billion), seventh in 2014 ($45.5 billion), 2015 ($45.3 billion) and 2016 ($51.8 billion), and sixth in 2017 ($56.2 billion) and 2018 ($59.9 billion).
The Korean tech mogul claimed the highest position among the Asian names, beating Japanese automaker Toyota ranking seventh with $56.2 billion.
Other Korean names also joined the list of top 100 valuable global brands.
Korea¡¯s Hyundai Motor ranked 36th again this year with $14.16 billion in brand value after adding 5 percent on year, while its sibling Kia Motors lost 7 percent to $6.43 billion in value, sliding down seven notches to the 78th.
Apple topped this year¡¯s ranking with $234.24 billion, up 9 percent from the previous year. Google came second with $167.71 billion (up 8 percent), followed by Amazon with $125.26 billion (up 24 percent).
