Samsung Electronics’ air conditioner and induction range, together with LG Electronics’ refrigerator, won the Grand Prize at the 22nd Energy Winner Awards held Wednesday in Seoul, South Korea, according to Consumers Korea.

The Energy Winner Awards, co-organized by the Consumers Korea and the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy, honor efforts to save energy and protect the environment with technical innovation in automobile, electronics and construction sectors.

Total 22 products and two buildings were among the winners at this year’s event, and the Grand Prize was given to Samsung Electronics’ four-way wind free cassette air conditioner, Samsung Electronics’ induction range, LG Electronics’ DIOS two-door refrigerator and a sports center for the disabled in Asan, South Chungcheong Province.

Others awarded include SK Magic all-in-one water purifier, Winix dehumidifier, LG Whisen premium air conditioner, LG Multi V Super 5 premium air conditioner, LG Tromm Plus washing machine, LG DIOS Dishwasher, Samsung refrigerator, Samsung AddWash Drum Washer, Samsung LED monitor, Samsung notebook computer Pen S.

Both Samsung and LG earned eight trophies this year, the most as a company.
