Samsung Electronics said on Wednesday it has installed a massive state-of-the-art LED display at the One Times Square building in Manhattan to add to the iconic scene of one of the world’s favorite and bustling cities.
One Times Square, the globally recognized 25-story building located in the heart of the square, is home to the New Year’s Eve ball drop celebrated around the world.
The new four-screen high-end SMART LED Signage from Samsung measures 1,081 square meters when combined. The XPS080 (8 mm pixel pitch) uses up to 9,000 nit to show clear images even with bright sunlight, the company said.
The displays feature premium center-stage exposure with full motion video, live-streaming and interactive capabilities, delivering a powerful visual experience to visitors. The displays went through reliability tests under extreme conditions, the company added.
Samsung Electronics’ signature signage products were also applied to other Time Square buildings such as Sunglass Hut Times Square (2016), National Geographic Encounter (2017) and Two Times Square (2018).
